Cummins B Diesel Engine has had an association with heavy duty Dodge Trucks that are being placed in service in application where torque is a must since the early 1990s. Dodge diesel injectors are not actually built buy the Chrysler corporation. The Cummins injectors are also not built by the manufacturer of the engine itself. The supplier of the Common rail fuel system is actually Bosch and the injectors are Bosch Injectors. This is significant because much of the progress that has been made in diesel injection technology in recent years had been developed by Bosch with an investment of over $5 Billion dollars in designing newer versions of the Common rail fuel system. These developments have lead to greater fuel economy, more power and lower emissions. It is estimated that 7-8 million VP44 Common Rail fuel systems have been placed in service worldwide. The third generation CP3 Common Rail fuel system has almost 50 million units in service worldwide. Common Rail fuel systems with advancements such as the Piezo Bosch Injectors are changing the way we view diesel power by the way in which they alter the performance capabilities of the vehicle in which they are installed. So Dodge injectors are not made by Dodge, and Cummins Injectors are not made by Cummins in fact the Injectors in the Dodge Ram 2500D and 3500D are all made by Bosch Fuel Systems.
